Scientific Facts

Edible bird’s nest (EBN) contains mainly amino acids, carbohydrates and mineral salts. The major ingredients of EBN are glycoproteins. Amongst the carbohydrates in EBN, sialic acid (9%) is the major one. It was found that the exogenous source of sialic acid may contribute to neurological and intellectual advantages in infants.

Amino acids and mineral salts are also important components in EBN. They could facilitate normal body functions such as cell repair and promote immunity. Other investigations also provided scientific evidence that supports the traditional beliefs that the consumption of EBN can replenish vital energy and strength, facilitate metabolism, accelerate recovery from diseases and nourish the skin tone.

The results of various experiments and studies have shown bird’s nest’s usefulness.
1. For women, with its anti-aging property, regular consumption of bird’s nest can keep the skin moisturised and smooth, as well as inhibit the aging process.
2. For pregnant mothers, consuming bird’s nest can improve their physical fitness, reduce back pain and have a speedy recovery process after childbirth.
